President Ibrahim Traore Narrowly escaped death

President Ibrahim Traore survived 18th assassination attempt.

‎President Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso has survived his 18th assassination attempt, with the most recent incident occurring on April 3, 2025, at the Presidential Palace in Ouagadougou. Two suspects were neutralized by the Presidential Guard, preventing a coordinated internal coup involving at least five high-ranking officers.

‎

‎Traoré, 36, came to power in September 2022 after a military coup and has been a symbol of African sovereignty and defiance. His leadership has been marked by:

‎- *Anti-Imperialist Stance*: Expelling French troops from Burkina Faso in January 2023 and strengthening ties with Russia

‎- *Regional Unity*: Forming the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) with Mali and Niger to push for regional sovereignty

‎- *Economic Reforms*: Initiating reforms to take back control of gold and resource contracts

‎

‎The motives behind the assassination attempts are unclear, but tensions are high due to Traoré's anti-colonial stance and efforts to distance Burkina Faso from Western influence. His survival has been attributed to:

‎- *Strong Security Apparatus*: Loyal military units and personal guards

‎- *Proactive Measures*: Rapid response to threats and intelligence support from allies like Russia

‎- *Public Resilience*: Traoré's commitment to leading the country and reassuring citizens of his safety

‎

However it is the responsibility of Africans to look out for African leaders who have the interest of his citizen at hand. Some of the other African countries should also try to support such a leader in other for Africans to unite and achieve full potential in development and security in other to protect their citizens and increase their GDP.

‎

‎Traoré's leadership has won him support among Pan-Africanist youth and citizens who believe Africa must break free from neocolonial control. However, this stance has also earned him powerful enemies within the region .

‎

‎

‎

‎

‎

‎

‎

‎

‎

‎

‎

‎

‎

‎

‎
