FASHION AS A FORM OF SELF EXPRESSION
Fashion is much deeper than we often give it credit for. It is about self definition, self expression and most importantly claiming our identity whatever that may be. We express ourselves through a set of symbols, colours, patterns and accessories to display our backgrounds, preferences and personalities. Our dress codes are codified. Fashion allows us to visualize and interpret pop-culture and iconography. Expressing yourself in this day and age proves to be quite challenging atimes. Standards set by society on how to look, act, and sometimes even feel; dictates many aspects of our lives. Style is fantastic. It allows us to change things up as we go reflecting our continuous growth, moving through life. The freedom that comes with self expression is magnificent, and sets you on a path to being a happier version of yourself. The clothes that we wear have a practical purpose. They keep us warm and comfortable at the very least, but they do just more than keep us warm. It's not all about individuality, it's also our representation of history, culture and a snapchat of society in a specific time and place. The flair that we give it within it's context is SELF EXPRESSION.
